Criminology

As I am getting my degree in criminology, I have taken many classes under criminology and sociology. Out of all of the pieces I have written as a criminology student, I chose to include this piece from the class Conflict and the Law. Conflict and the Law was one of the first elective criminology classes I took and the paper I am including from this class was called a “Reaction Paper.” This paper was a reaction to the book that we were reading in class called Moral Time by well-known criminologist Donald Black. In this paper we had to explain Black’s theory of moral time and then we explained how Black’s theory could be used to understand the movie “The Giver.”
I wanted to include this paper in my portfolio because the class was one of my favorite classes I took under criminology even though I took this class only in my second year of college, I learned so much from it and to this day I pull information that I learned from that class. I wanted to include this paper specifically because not only did I learn so much from this class, but I took this class earlier on in my college career and I wanted to show how I have grown as a writer since.
